Rules and concepts for how distance, range, and space are measured and used in the game.
This page covers the various ways spaces and distances are counted for different game purposes, including character movement, weapon ranges, area effects, and other spatial mechanics.
A character’s Movement per Moment equals 3 + the dice in one Body Talent of their choice + the dice in their Extraordinary Force Talent.
You may move, any number of times, up to your full Movement allowance at any time during your Moment.
A Range may also describe a Radius or Diameter.
When a Range is Restricted, one additional Friction is added to Rolls using that Range. Ranges may be restricted on a case-by-case basis (such as for specific weapons) or restricted by default until something unrestricts them. Distant Range is double Restricted by default.
As a general rule, melee weapons have a range of Close* because they can generally be thrown up to five spaces. This does not mean they have a striking range of 1–5 while held.
