Story problems and narrative goals ready for use in fantasy chronicles.
Prompts are concise story problems that define the central conflict or goal of a Narrative Stage.
Each Prompt establishes a clear issue that the players must engage with. The story reaches its natural conclusion when that problem is resolved — whether through success, failure, or a meaningful change in circumstances.
A Narrator may present a Prompt openly, or they may use one covertly as the hidden truth behind a more obvious surface-level situation. In the latter case, players only discover the true stakes once they begin to engage with the story.
Prompts are flexible tools. They can stand alone as the focus of a single story, or they can be layered, hidden inside other Prompts, or used as the deeper motivation behind Situations the players encounter.
